Mission Trails Park Hike
Join fellow alumni for a quick tour of the Mission Trails Interpretive Center followed by a hike through a variety of terrains and habitats in Mission Trails Regional Park, one of the largest regional parks in San Diego.
This event will begin with a tour of the Mission Trails Interpretive Center, with exhibits about the history of the park, its natural plant and animal communities, and the activities and destinations available within the park. After the tour we'll go for a guided hike through various habitats within the park. For more information about the park, see: https://mtrp.org/
The trails are easy, but do have some uneven surfaces and steps, so wear sturdy shoes with traction. Also, consider bringing a hat or sunscreen if it's a sunny day, and binocculars that are easy to carry.
Light refreshments will follow the hike.
We will meet at the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor & Interpretive Center. From Mission Gorge Road, turn north onto Father Junipero Serra Trail (just east of the Jackson Drive intersection). The entrance to the Visitor Center parking lot is on the left, just before the pipe gate. For detailed directions see: https://mtrp.org/directions/
Note: The red flag on the map to the right is placed near the center of the park, not at the Visitor and Interpretive Center, which is much closer to the beginning of Father Junipero Serra Trail, at Mission Gorge Road.
